Last Comic Standing ovation in Milwaukee

Chuckles, shrieks, and howls abounded as Milwaukeeans took in the comedic material from the popular NBC show, “Last Comic Standing.”

The cream of the crop of season 9 for “Last Comic Standing” showed up and showed out and induced side-splitting laughter on Friday, Oct. 3 at the Pabst Theater.

Fans of the show packed the house to see the last five standing comics–Ian Bagg, Dominique, Andy Erickson, Michael Palascak, and season 9 winner Clayton English–deliver their one-liners and wisecracks from only feet away.  Fans Katie and Brad High said of the television show, “We loved it! We had to come to the live show!”

On the NBC series, legendary comedy icons Roseanne Barr, Keenan Ivory Wayans and Norm MacDonald serve as judges, but on Oct. 3 it was Milwaukee viewers that served as judge and jury, and from the laughter that filled the room the comedians hit the mark.

Bagg opened the show followed by Dominique, both giving performances that delighted attendees.

Erickson performed before intermission in tow with only a mic, a stool and a pink unicorn. Erickson delivered on the one-liners and captivated the audience with wisecracks like, “My friend said it took $70 to fill her tank. I said. Whoa…! Whoa..! You drive a tank?”

Palascak and English finished the show and received positive feedback heard from the cries of laughter throughout the theater.  Charlene Hobbins gushed, “So far the show has been a 10. Clayton is the funniest.”

Fans were ecstatic to get up close and personal with the comedians as they took turns taking photos, signing autographs, and of course selling their comedy swag to theatergoers. As Erickson playfully put it, she was raising money to “better her living conditions.”

“Last Comic Standing” devotees were overjoyed to see the comics and experience the laughter right here in Milwaukee after following the show for eight seasons. We are all at the edge of our seats to see where the journeys of these new comedic stars will go and what new show may be in store for English through the development deal he received from NBC as part of his prize.

One thing is for sure–these comics will keep us laughing all the way.
