The Healthy Slice: Losing Weight

It’s officially spring; Hot Bod season is just around the corner. You want to lose weight? Set a realistic goal. Make a plan and stick to it, and be patient with your body.

According to “The Biggest Loser” fitness guru, Jillian Michaels, the truth about losing weight is simple: There’s no such thing as losing weight “too fast.”

Ladies, you want to lose that weight in all the right places? Squats, sit-ups, leg lifts!

Men, turn that winter fat into muscle! Jog or bike to the gym. Lift!

Ladies and gentlemen, go to the gym.

According to Lifehacker.com, a good rule of thumb is five days in the gym, two days rest, 45 minutes minimum, two hours maximum, per day.

I know some of you are out there saying, “I don’t know how to plan to lose weight. How should I know what’s a realistic goal for me?”

There are a few star-studded, easy-peasy, sure-fire ways to lose weight:

Eat no fast food. Enough said. Stop drinking soda. Soda is a menace. Stop eating after a specific time in the evening, say, 7 p.m. After dinner, just stop eating.

Nighttime snacks turn to fat while you sleep; you never get a chance to burn the calories.

Lastly, if you haven’t worked out in a while or not sure how to start, try  fast-walking a few miles a day.

I give you my word: You will look good and you will feel good. Just watch out for cars.
