Thomas Hood, MATC men’s basketball standout, received a scholarship to keep playing basketball at Davenport University in Michigan.

Hood has been a star on and off the court. On the court, Hood played 24 games for the Stormers in which he averaged 12 points per game, five rebounds and nearly 1.5 assists.

His intensity on the court carried over to the classroom. Hood was able to maintain a 3.3 GPA while receiving his Associate in Arts degree.

When asked how he managed to stay so efficient in the classroom and on the court Hood answered, “I realized that I couldn’t have one (basketball) without the other (academic success), so I made it a point to focus,  and made time to accomplish both at the highest level I could.”

Hood is a truly exemplary student and basketball player whose attitude off the court helps him excel on the court and vice versa.

Hood plans on getting his bachelor’s in sociology during his time at Davenport.
