The Historic Milwaukee organization hosted the seventh-annual Doors Open Milwaukee Sept. 23-24.

The public event provides the opportunity to see historic properties around the city at. Many tours are free.

This event started seven years ago by Historic Milwaukee tour guide and local librarian, George Wagner.

The concept is to showcase outstanding architecture for all to experience.

The goals of Doors Open Milwaukee are to raise awareness of the critical role design plays in the city, welcome exploration and improve perceptions of the neighborhoods, and to foster pride in Milwaukee.
