Welcome back all faculty, staff and students! As we embrace the New Year, and to keep you in tune with traditional New Year’s resolutions, I would like to offer some suggested reads from the MATC library to help you stay the course.
Here are my “4 for ’24” for wellness, relationships, self care and finances:
Eat Smarter: Use the Power of Food to Rebook Your Metabolism, Upgrade Your Brain,, and Transform Your Life by Shawn Stevenson.
(Highlights): How your body burns fat for fuel, and which foods and nutrients are safe.
Self Matters: Creating Your Life from the Inside Out by Dr.Phil.
(Highlights): This is about life strategies and rescuing relationships. I personally like this self-help book because it forces readers to examine their lives and repurpose them.
How to be Love(d) by Humble the Poet.
(Highlights): Simple truths about going easier on yourself, embracing imperfection, and loving yourself to a better you.
The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason.
(Highlights): This book is about financial freedom and teaches you financial independence. Lessons are taught in the form of fairytale and folklore as you journey through the ancient city of Babylon.
