Going on the trip to Washington, D.C. with the MATC Times was an experience that made me realize just how big the world is when it comes down to getting opportunities like this: from the bustling streets and historical landmarks to the shadows of the people that once walked in this city and molded the city for what it is today.
I learned a lot at MediaFest25 and it gave me a perspective on how the media and journalism work hand in hand. When I went into the conference, I wanted to not just learn but actually explore, understand the heart of D.C. and its inhabitants.
As a result, I went to places I never thought I would, and it is all because of my hard work and dedication as a photographer for the MATC Times.
This trip rekindled my dreams of traveling the world and gave me the drive of my curiosity back to exploring more in the world.
At first, I was going to turn the opportunity down because of life and stress. However, I would have done a disservice to myself. And now looking back at it, I don’t regret taking that leap of faith.
