The week before Spring Break, members of Student Life at MATC South got into the Easter spirit and hosted a three-day Easter egg hunt. Student government volunteers placed over 70 eggs throughout the building. Students who were lucky or diligent enough to find an egg were given a sweet treat and a note to go to the Student Life office to pick out a prize. Several students from the HVAC program were seen searching high and low during their class breaks. Jacob Blundon, HVAC senior, with the help of his classmate Adrian Davis, was able to find an egg hidden in the pamphlets along the wall near the administration desk. They planned to continue the search during their lunch break. Two students from the Criminal Justice program found two eggs in a silverware container.
Many bulletin boards throughout the school had flyers advertising the Easter challenge but when asked, most students were unaware of the egg hunt. In the hustle and bustle of balancing school, work and home life we can sometimes forget that school isn’t just about classes. It’s also about building social skills. MATC offers many sports, clubs and events, all of which use the bulletin boards to help keep you informed and involved. Please take time to see what is going on in your school.
