The National Technical Honor Society is a non-profit organization for exceptional students enrolled in occupational, technical, diploma or associate degree programs. The organization was founded in Grambling, South Carolina in 1984 and is comprised of business, community and education leaders, two-year college instructors and students who serve the organization on its national board. Each semester students eligible for the award are contacted and given the opportunity to join the organization. Based upon their academic achievement, students may apply for full membership in the society. An induction ceremony is held every semester to honor those who have received “America’s highest award for excellence in career and technical education.”
