The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) “dedicates itself to increase the number of culturally-responsible Black and other active minority students in the field of Engineering Technology and Applied Science, to excel academically and professionally to positively impact the community,” said Jarvis Dingle, President of the NSBE Chapter here.In a world that has a growing focus on renewable energy, joining NSBE “offers students a chance to positively impact the community,” according to the home page of the MATC Chapter of NSBE.
“NSBE is the largest student-run organization in the world,” says Dingle. He goes on to say by joining students can gain experience in leadership and help build their résumé by attending workshops and conventions.
There are also scholarships available for those who qualify.
NSBE is also sponsoring Jeff Seagle to speak at the Energy Summit, which is free for students who register prior to the event held at the Midwest Express Center, March 24.
They will also have a table there where you can find more information about their organization and up-coming events.
The Paint Pursuit games are an event geared toward students, members, faculty and staff having a day of fun.
It will be on April 17 in Plainfield, Illinois. Admission, which is $30 if you register before March 31 and $40 thereafter, can be paid at the cashier’s window on the first floor, S Building, Downtown Milwaukee Campus.
