Oak Creek EditorTake a moment to remember the horrible cold spells we’ve faced this winter. Now imagine being young, alone and homeless. This is the case for approximately 400 Milwaukee County youth every day.
For 11-17 year olds, one place to turn is Pathfinders Shelter for Runaway and Homeless Youth. This non-profit group has been helping at-risk youth get back on track for over 30 years. It is also the focus of the Criminal Justice Student Organization’s “Carnival for a Cause,” scheduled to be here at Oak Creek Campus on March 28.
Each semester, the CJSO chooses a worthy cause to assist. Last semester they raised over two tons of goods and several thousand dollars for the troops overseas. You don’t have to wait until the carnival to help. Donations of NEW personal items such as warm clothing and basic hygiene products can make an immediate difference.
