Free Echocardiograms (Echo) are being offered to students, faculty, administration and staff this semester. According to Jennifer Yaeger, Echocardiography student, an Echo uses sound waves to capture images of the “internal structure and functions of your heart, valves, ventricles and the atria.”
“It looks at the wall motion of the heart, the leaflets of the valves and the blood flow (to make) sure they are functioning properly. It is a non-evasive procedure that anyone can have.”
By taking time out of one Tuesday to have this procedure done you may not only benefit your health, but you will also help the students in this field, like Jennifer, perfect their craft. It is important for them to have hands-on experiences to further their education.
Each student is closely monitored and thoroughly reviewed, and the Echo is finished by Richard H. Dettman, Med, RDCS, FASE.
The Cardiovascular Technology/Echocardiography and Health Occupations instructor ensures safety and the student’s accuracy.
To schedule your appointment call 414-297-6441 or e-mail Rick Dettman at [email protected].
Appointments are available on Tuesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m. in Room M480. Walk-ins are also welcome as long as time allows.
