Free Echocardiograms (Echo) are offered to students, faculty, administration and staff this semester. According to Jennifer Yaeger, Echocardiography student, an Echo uses sound waves to capture images of the “internal structure and functions of your heart, valves, ventricles and the atria. It looks at the wall motion of the heart, the leaflets of the valves and the blood flow (to make) sure they are functioning properly. It is a non evasive procedure that anyone can have.”
By taking the time out of one Wednesday to have this procedure done will not only benefit your health but will also help the students in this field, like Jennifer, perfect their craft. It is important for them to have hands on experiences to further their education. Each student is closely monitored, thoroughly reviewed and finished by Richard H. Dettman, Med, RDCS, FASE, the Cardiovascular Technology/Echocardiography, and Health Occupations Instructor to ensure your safety and the student’s accuracy.
To schedule your appointment call (414) 297-6441 or e-mail Rick Dettman @ [email protected]. Appointments are available on Wednesdays from 8A.M. – 3:30P.M. in room M480. Walk-ins are also welcome as long as time allows.
