“The next generation in television and movies is here, and it’s called Hulu. Hulu.com has more than 800 movie and show titles from over 90 content partners like FOX, NBC, Viacom, Sony, MGM and Paramount. It’s great! The reason they’re legal is because there are really short 15- to 30-second commercials spread apart throughout the movies. Ghost Busters for instance has nine commercial breaks which adds up to be at most four minutes and 50 seconds throughout a 145-minute film.
That’s not bad for free, and it’s immensely better than wasting gas driving to a movie rental place and paying $4.74 per movie.Trading four minutes and 50 seconds for a free movie is
a bargain. Renting Pitch Black, The Karate Kid, 28 Days Later and The Three Amigos would cost $18.96, or you could watch them free on Hulu.
The money made from the ads goes to the companies that publish the films, so they’re happy that they’re getting paid and we’re happy that we get free movies. Everyone’s happy except movie rental stores, which are becoming a thing of the past with the capability of renting movies off of your DVR. Unlike movie rentals and DVR, Hulu offers TV shows that are out now and even really old TV shows.
At most there are five commercials for a TV show. Some examples would be Family Guy, Burn Notice, Monk, Psych, Firefly, Highlander, Angel,House, The A-team, Jackass, The Tick, Invisible Man, The Rockford
