If you haven’t already registered for the Green Energy Summit, now’s the time. For students, price is no object. Registration is free.
Whether you are studying Culinary Arts, Business Management or Landscaping, you can find a session related to your field of study. With more than 40 speakers, there’s much to choose from, so here is a preview of what’s in store.
The summit starts March 9 at 7:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast and runs through March 11 until 5:30 pm at the Frontier Airline Center. It will conclude on March 12 with workshops at MATC’s ECAM Center in Oak Creek, or a tour of facilities that embrace renewable energy.
On Wednesday morning, author Andrew Winston, Green to Gold, along with Tom Still, Wisconsin Technology Council, and Tom Eggert, Wisconsin Sustainable Business, will discuss how going green is good for business.
In the afternoon, Tom Boldt, The Boldt Company, reveals innovations in energy efficiency, and Will Allen, Growing Power, will inspire us to build sustainable food systems.
Thursday morning brings authors Naomi Oreskes and Bill McKibben, also founder of www.350.org.
For the first time, MATC will host the Fourth Street Forum at the summit.
Join the audience discussion about The New Economy: Green Power, hosted by Denise Callaway at 2 PM.
Friday’s speakers include Thomas Llewellyn Wright, who is living green in a Frank Lloyd Wright house that was built by his grandfather, and Debra Rowe, who is integrating education with sustainable development.
Be sure to explore exhibit booths, inspect an electric limousine, network with green business leaders, and have a cookie with coffee served in a recyclable cup, of course.
