On November 5 at Oak Creek Campus, the leaders of all the student clubs and faculty-run departments were invited to a luncheon with campus Vice President John Stilp. This is a once-a-semester meeting where everyone in attendance has the opportunity to not only discuss concerns, but to brainstorm solutions as well. Heading up the meeting was Student Life Coordinator Cathy Lechmaier.
Every club and department represented that voiced a comment or concern was given ample time to present their case. Each issue presented was answered by serious discussion and input from those in attendance, as well as Vice president Stilp himself.
This forum also covered the results of the fire drill, the purposed addition of a student security force and various other concerns, such as problems with speeding cars and the enforcement of smoking rules at building entrances.
One of the more proactive solutions discussed was the possibility of acquiring a “Segway” to speed response time of campus security.
Updates on the new computers for the Academic Support Center and solutions to the fire drill shortfalls were also given.
