What you can do when trying to enroll in BaderCare
Dear Student Legal Clinic,
I heard about the delay in enrolling in BadgerCare if I have no minor children. My children are in their 20s. I make about $12,500, but my income fluctuates. What should I do?
Signed Belnita
Dear Belnita,
You will qualify for a Federal subsidy to buy health insurance off the Federal Exchange. That website is still having problems. There are several organizations that are trying to help people enroll or at least set up their account to be ready to enroll as soon as the website is fixed.
The best thing to do is to contact one of the organizations to begin the process and to get help from a Certified Enrollment Counselor (CEC). CECs have passed tests proving their knowledge of the Affordable Care Act and the enrollment process.
Please see the flyer below to find help with this process.
