Food ideas wanted for new businesses

If you have an interesting idea for a food recipe or if you are a student of MATC who loves to cook, you can take part in MATC’s Hottest Kitchen Entrepreneur Challenge. For the third straight year, MATC is partnering with Reliable Water Services during this event.
The Challenge started in April 2 and the deadline to enter is before midnight on May 16. “This contest is really focused on food business ideas,” said Christel Henke, from Reliable Water Services.
Henke continued,“It can be anything from a sauce, or a baby food, anything food related that you can imagine.” Students can enter the contest by filling out an online application at www.hotwater247.com and picking which category they would like to be entered into. Whether you have a food product you have or an idea for a restaurant, the possibilities are endless.
“We’ve had a few students enter but we feel there’s a lot more potential,” said Henke. The challenge stretches throughout the state of Wisconsin. Milwaukee is one of the biggest contributors, as many participants come from Milwaukee colleges, such as MATC. This contest can help get people’s food ideas out to the public, and could even help them start a new business. “There are a lot of people who like to cook and who have great ideas to start, businesses but they don’t know where to go or how to start, so this is a great place to do that,” said Henke.
Those who participate can earn prize money from Reliable Water Services. They also can get an entrepreneur package from MATC and also learn from many experts in different food industries on branding and marketing.
People can receive a valuable amount of experience and information by participating in this challenge. The final event of the challenge will be held on July 17 when judges from different food industries will give advice to potential winners and participants. Participating in this challenge has a lot of benefits.
The Hottest Kitchen Entrepreneur Challenge can help any potential chefs and restaurant owners find their footing. Any student from MATC is eligible, not just students in a culinary program. If you have an interesting food idea or just want to start your own food business, signing up for this challenge is a must. For more information, head to www.hotwater247.com.
