Transfer Days introduce students to schools
Dozens of colleges visited all the campuses to show the students what they offer and why they should transfer to their college. This is very important for students because it shows them what options are out there after MATC.
Transfer Days also helps the student step in the right direction. Multiple schools are represented at tables with plenty of information, and usually a recruiter atttends answer any questions. Changing colleges is hard for students, especially if they have a lot of choices. This helps them narrow down the schools to a select few they may want to go to.
One of the colleges that was at the campuses was DeVry University. DeVry has a very unique program for students called Bridge to Bachelor’s. This is a program where students get to take one free class, either online or in person.
It will go toward their desired program, or if they just want to see if they are in the right place, they can use the free class is the test. DeVry also has many scholarships a student could receive. One of them only requires you to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Carthage was another college that visited the campuses. Carthage offers a lot of classes at night, and most of them are once a week.
They know students are busy with family or work. They also know how important education is to help better a person for a job.
Students have a variety of options these days. Talking to the recruiters and taking pamphlets helps to further research the programs offered. If students walk up to the table and say what program they are in now, the recruiters are happy to direct a person to what program they should consider, if they want to transfer.
There are many options out there. And MATC is helping students by offering Transfer Days, which show ways to make a better future.
