A Hunger Point
February marks the launch of the MATC Student Food Bank sponsored by the Office of Student Life. One in 10 of the 4.6 million people that depend on food pantries are college students. Between the increasing cost of tuition, textbooks and housing, some students are left unable to afford food. The food bank will serve as an aid to those students who struggle with food insecurity.
Any current MATC student in need of food is eligible to receive one supplemental bag of non-perishable food once per month; a valid Stormer Pass is required at your visit. The Student Food Bank is located in the Student Legal Clinic at the downtown Milwaukee campus in Room M346.
It will be open every Wednesday, 2 – 4 p.m. starting Feb. 17. Any monetary or food donations are welcomed.
