Tuesday, June 14, was a great evening for those involved in the MATC Promise initiative. Dr. Vicki J. Martin, MATC president, spoke at the event that took place on the downtown Milwaukee campus.

This was a celebration that highlighted all those who donated to MATC’s Promise program.

Martin’s understanding of the critical role that MATC plays in the success of students and businesses has helped with the forward momentum of the Promise program.

During the event a new total of $1,028,369 was announced, which included contributions by local businesses and private donors, among them was Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele with a donation of $250,000.

Other major contributors highlighted at the event: Johnson Controls, $100,000; ManpowerGroup, $100,000; Melanie Holmes, former District Board chairperson, $100,000; and Rob and Maggie Potrzebowski, $100,000. The Forest County Potawatomi Foundation donated $30,000 to the Promise. A gift from retired ManpowerGroup executive and MATC alumnus Terry Hueneke, in the sum of  $25,000 was given.

The evening was a great success due to the commitment made by those who value education, and creating opportunities for those who strive to make a difference in their lives.
