MATC’s Alumni Network has risen from the dead
Great news for soon-to-be MATC graduates: the school’s Alumni Network is back and aims to be better than ever.
The organization, coordinated by Bob Holland, coordinator for scholarships and alumni services through the MATC Foundation Inc., serves to provide alumni with lifelong connections to the college. “Members enjoy lifetime access to Wisconsin TechConnect, for your job-searching needs,” said Holland. “We also offer an alumni travel discount program [and] will be adding new benefits in the coming months.”
Holland stated that, as members of the Alumni Network, MATC graduates are able to give back, “whether that be through mentoring, volunteer opportunities within the college, or supporting scholarships.” As coordinator, he is excited to see how the network will help graduates. “[It] is a great way for our students to stay connected to each other and the college after they have entered the workforce in pursuit of their dreams,” said Holland.
However, being coordinator doesn’t come without its fair share of difficulties. “The most challenging aspect…is getting the word out to our current students so they join before leaving MATC,” said Holland. “Tracking down our alumni after they’ve graduated isn’t always easy. So it’s important for students to join now.”
Holland is optimistic that the network will be able to show how MATC has had a positive impact on its graduates. “Our alumni can be the best storytellers to educate the community about MATC,” he stated.
