How to help deter car thefts and break-ins on campus

MATC’s Director of Public Safety, Aisha Barkow, provides six tips that may help you avoid becoming a victim of auto theft. Nearly 2,500 cars have been stolen in the City so far this year. Last month Milwaukee Police Department Captain James Campbell referred to the increase in automobile break-ins and thefts as an epidemic. Car brands Kia and Hyundai continue to be the car of choice for thieves, however, Barkow’s theft preventive tips are aimed at helping all car owners.
