First round of the Big East Tournament starts off with a disappointing week for Seton Hall
The Big East tournament begins Wednesday as Seton Hall & DePaul match off to win a spot in the quarterfinals.
MARCH 8TH, 2023 – Seton Hall and DePaul go neck and neck to each other during the last minute of the first round of the Big East Tournament. The crowd roars with excitement, everyone is on the edge of their seats to see who will earn a spot in the quarter finals on Thursday. By only one point, Seton Hall loses to DePaul 66 – 65. Refs initially ruled it as goaltending, but then changed it to a block after reviewing the video footage.
“I don’t know.” Coach Holloway started, “First of all, let me give DePaul a lot of credit. Their coaching staff and their guys worked hard all the way to the end. We had a chance to ice the game, but we had two killer turnovers right there at the end.” The last 30 seconds were intense for everyone who attended this second game of the Big East conference.
DePaul, typically one of the lower teams on the Big East Tournament list, got the opportunity to have an exciting moment at Madison Square Garden, home to the New York Knicks. Out of all three games played on March 8th, this game brought the most life out of the stadium.
