There will be a celebration for new U.S. citizens at Walker’s Square. The event focuses on MATC students who have completed their citizenship class, as well as all the necessary requirements of becoming U.S. citizens.
The event will feature representatives from MATC and community partners who will speak with the newly naturalized citizens and help ease their transition into post-secondary education programs. The students will also learn about financial aid/scholarship options available to U.S citizens. There will be an opportunity to register to vote, and students can participate in a mock election on a voting machine that’s being provided by the City of Milwaukee Election Cmmission.
The event takes place on Monday, November 20, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.at MATC’s Walker’s Square location.
