A tale of golden treasure and archaeological mysteries awaits you at the Baird Center in downtown Milwaukee. Experience ancient history come to life and gaze at the Egyptian sun as it rises above the Pyramids of Giza, filling the sky with beautiful golden hues.
Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience takes you through nine multi-sensory galleries where you travel back in time to ancient Egypt. That’s where you come face to face and examine King Tutankhamun, a 9-year-old who was made king and mysteriously died 10 years later.
The cause of King Tut’s death is unknown and his rule was forgotten until 3000 years later. That’s when Egyptologist Howard Carter discovered his tomb, revealing one of the greatest archaeological mysteries of all time. Inside Tut’s tomb was a wall of solid gold. It revealed the story of his 12-hour journey through the afterlife.
The paint is so vibrant you would think it was painted yesterday. Tut’s mask is described as a masterpiece. It is made out of pure solid gold with the symbol of unification of upper and lower Egypt; power no one on earth could match. Over 5,000 treasures were discovered in his tomb that many Egyptologists studied for years.
This evolving story unlocks King Tut’s journey to eternity and a wall of everlasting life secrets. Travel through the wonders, beyond modern-day Egypt, and discover the mysteries of the boy king. Embark on a journey to northern Egypt.
