The MATC Chess Club is hosting the Spring 2024 Chess Tournament “Everything is Possible, Even the Impossible!”

It will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 9 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in Room M616 of the Downtown Campus.

Participation in this tournament is limited to MATC students enrolled in the Spring 2024 Semester or registered for the Summer or Fall 2024 Semester.  Student ID card required for tournament registration. The registration and fun are free!

We will have 5 rounds using a modified version of the Swiss system. USCF rules will be enforced – touch move, touch take, no talking or using electronic devices. No talking to opponents during games, except for draw offers, and to say “adjust” while straightening a piece on the board.  Touch move and touch take will be enforced as long as it is a legal move.

Disputes will be decided by the Tournament Director. Each participant will receive a prize or trophy!
