I am one of a handful of MATC Times students that is experiencing the RNC (Republican National Convention) in Milwaukee. Four members of the staff have media credentials for the event. We are among more than 15,000 media members from over 80 countries that are in the city to cover this event.
On Friday, I was with two other Times staffers to pick up our credentials and see some of the behind-the-scenes activities taking place before Monday, June 15. During the RNC, we will have the opportunity to see and meet members of the media, local and national representatives, convention delegates, Milwaukee area vendors and more.
We do not know what we will encounter, but are grateful we are able to have this experience. As a future journalist, I know this is likely a once in a lifetime experience.
