This week protesters gathered outside of the Milwaukee County Safety Building to continue to demand justice and voice their support for D’Vontaye Mitchell, who was killed by security guards in front of the Hyatt hotel. Cries and roars of “release the footage,” and “no justice, no peace” could be heard clear as day from the MATC Downtown Campus, which is located directly across the street from the Safety Building. *Story update: On Tuesday, August 6, the Milwaukee County District Attorney charged the four former Hyatt Regency employees with being a party to felony murder in connection with D’Vontaye Mitchell’s death.
