Free pastries, chips and beverages are available to students every day this week as part of a Welcome Back event at the Multicultural Center at the Downtown Campus. The office will also be serving free hot lunch for students on Thursday, September 12, around 12:45 p.m.
As students come into the office area this week they are finding out about the services Multicultural has to offer all students on campus.
According to American Indian Student Services Specialist Tanya Torres, the center is “dedicated to serving multicultural students through recruitment and retention services. The department promotes diversity and multicultural understanding at MATC and we are responsible for implementing programs for multicultural student access and retention. Our staff members are advocates for current and prospective multicultural and limited English proficient students. The staff is concerned with helping students resolve educational, vocational, financial, and personal needs to help them successfully complete their program of study and graduate. The staff works with multicultural students on admissions, registration, class scheduling, financial aid issues and more.”
The Multicultural office is located in room M238 Downtown.
