There’s some exciting news for Milwaukee’s local gamer community and music enthusiasts!
One of MATC’s Computer Simulation & Gaming students launched his first indie game Space Raft on the Nintendo Switch and Steam. Jordan B. Davis, who goes by the developer name Raftronuant, is a Chiptune and Pixel Artist from the greater Milwaukee area. In his spare time, he enjoys creating video games for the NES system and is a guitarist in a local rock ‘n’ roll band called Space Raft.
Space Raft: The Video Game was published by Nami Temu; it is an 8 -bit adventure game featuring Space Raft on their quest to save music as they make their way through a Wisconsin road trip. The game gives you the option to play as four of the band members, each with their own special quirks and abilities. The game contains references to the band’s music and other recognizable figures from the independent Milwaukee music scene. This game is an absolute treat for music fans and gamers alike. Space Raft is available for download on the Nintendo Store!
Davis says his main focus is classic video games. “My major releases have all been for the 8-bit NES and I’m mostly known in that community for being a composer for Chiptune, though I do graphics on my own projects. My goal is to attract an audience of players by planting my flag in the retro scene. That helps me narrow my scope and give people something they can identify with my work.”
