The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night event was a community fundraiser and cancer awareness event in Milwaukee for those with cancer to let them know they are not in the fight alone; we are all with them in their time of need. Finding out you or a loved one has cancer can be one of the darkest moments in life so we “light up the night.” With the symbolism of lighting up the patients and their family members’ lives, participants walked beside them. This event had food for all, music to enjoy, and a mile walk by the lake at the Henry Maier Festival Park. Participants’ lanterns were used to light the way.
