People tend to talk about what the best Christmas, Halloween, and Valentine movies are, but they always forget to mention the Thanksgiving genre. I mean, it’s understandable. Compared to the big guys running the show, it’s very easy to forget that there are even Thanksgiving movies. Nevertheless, I’m here to recommend three of the best movies to watch on Thanksgiving.
First, I need to mention one of the best short episodes I have ever watched and then I’ll get into feature films. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving deserves to be mentioned because of how great and impactful it is. If you and your family are ever looking for something to watch after seeing the Cowboys lose again, look no further than a Charlie Brown special.
Here are my Thanksgiving movie recommendations:
- Planes, Trains and Automobiles is a stunning comedic classic starring the talented Steve Martin and John Candy as the radical pairing try and make it back home for Thanksgiving. This comedy is nothing short of hilarious. If you’re looking for a heartwarming and chaotic friendship brewed with the mystical ride of whether or not they’ll make it in time for Thanksgiving, then this is definitely your speed.
- Home For The Holidays has some of the best romance mixed in with family drama that you will ever see. It is about our main character, Holly, going back home to spend quality time with her family for Thanksgiving, but instead of just doing so, it turns into something more. If you’re someone who likes romance and drama, this is the perfect movie for you.
- The Turkey Bowl is a very fun and lighthearted comedy about a man who returns to his hometown over Thanksgiving to play in an epic high school football game that’s full of wonderful charm and hilarious moments. If you’re looking for a fun, football-themed holiday comedy, this is definitely for you.
