There are many celebrations around the Easter holiday. To some, it’s about candy and Easter baskets, to others it has a deep spiritual meaning. Depending on the religion or your belief system, it can be celebrated in many different kinds of ways.
To Christians, Easter is a very important religious holiday when people get together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ with family and friends. They may participate in many different activities leading up to Easter including celebrating Lent, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. This year, Easter, which is April 20, can also be referred to in Jewish tradition as the Jewish Passover or as the memorial in other Christian denominations.
Easter occurs in the spring, when the weather can be somewhat rainy but also mild and warmer. Children often associate the holiday with colorful pastel eggs, baskets with candy or other treats, and white bunnies. Some foods that are associated with Easter, in addition to chocolate candies and colorful jelly beans, include baked ham, hot cross rolls, and deviled eggs.
No matter what people believe in, Easter is considered as a time for family, friends, and associates to get together, enjoy their time off of work and school, and to cherish the time together and celebrate.
