Emma Turk came from Saudi Arabia to attend MATC. In May, she graduated with a degree in 3D Animation. She was honored with a gold cord from MATC, representing honors for her talent and hard work. In addition to her academic success, Emma contributed to the Times as a graphic designer. Her talents shined with visually appealing designs and cover art. She created the “Thankful in all languages” Thanksgiving-themed cover of the Times published in November of 2024, and this May 2025, graduate-themed “The possibilities are endless” cover.
What are your plans after graduation?
“If I have any opportunity, I will take it. Since 2020, I’ve been here in the United States. Right now, I am interested in going home to see what’s happening, maybe find work and just wait for an opportunity. If I do not find a position I like, I will come back to the U.S. I am open to all opportunities here, there, anywhere,” she said.
Why did you choose MATC?
“I chose MATC because it’s a technical college, I don’t like academic work (long lectures and lots of reading). At MATC, it was hands-on and that’s what I enjoy,” Turk said.
