Please – No more fees!

Tuition, books, and supplies are all considered normal college costs. Should parking be one of them? Gateway, Moraine Park, and Blackhawk technical colleges have no parking fees.
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College charges a parking/security fee of $1.85 per credit. The Washington Post states that it can cost up to $1300 per year to park at Washington D.C., area colleges!
MATC charges $22 for a one-semester parking permit, or $32 for a full school year. The permit is all that is needed for the Mequon, West Allis and Oak Creek campuses, at the Downtown Milwaukee campus you pay for the parking permit  plus $1.50 to park in two designated structures. That might not seem like a lot, but for 100 days of school, that’s an additional $150 plus the permit price. The U-Pass will let you ride to campus free, but is not an option for all students due to time constraints, access to the bus line, or various other reasons. Mequon campus students, who have no additional parking fees beyond the permit, give their thoughts on the question, “How do you feel about the parking fees on campus?”
