The Student Life Committee (SLC) held its first meeting this year. This meeting was considered informal, as its intent was to decide future meeting dates and some college events.
The SLC Board is made up of Senate members representing each of the four campuses, as each campus has its own Student Senate.
They also voted for President and Vice President.
The President voted in was Karen Vogel, Mequon Campus, and the job of Vice President went to Angela Olson, Oak Creek Campus.
According to Archie Graham, Student Life Director, the Student Life Committee is an official college committee.
The decisions made here must be documented.
Also, SLC is in charge of the budget through the student activity fees, and SLC must decide how that money is allocated each year.
Other jobs of the Student Life Committee include speaking on behalf of students and addressing their concerns, according to Olson.
Nick Kasprzak, President of Mequon Campus, explained they take those concerns to the College Board and back to their Senate, as each campus has its own Senate.
Vogel added they make such decisions as passing the U-Pass, and they are working on a Health Care Committee.
