A new coalition has formed to support the four people who lost their positions when the Multicultural Services office closed in August. The group is called Save the Four and it’s made up of 14 community organizations.
Members of the organization are concerned that some students are not getting the support they need. Three people spoke in support of the four staff members at the MATC District Board meeting yesterday. Community members have spoken out at every board meeting since it was announced the individuals would lose their jobs.
The Multicultural office was replaced by the Office of Community Impact. You can read more about the staff members and the new office here.
The board’s discussion included reports on MATC’s Tax Levy, MATC’s Ai policy, and addressed plans for academic programs, student resources and ways to enhance student success and engagement across the campus community.
