DIRTKNAP, remember that name metal heads, because this band is going places. Lead singer Drew and Guitarist Dan are both MATC alumni from the Web Design and Welding programs, respectively.It has been my honor to watch this band mature over the past three years. September 5, 2009, they played at Liquor Sweets in the main ballroom.

It was their (self-titled) CD release show, and the band rocked the paint off the walls.

They performed all their fan favorites off the 13-track CD to include: FAKE, LOVE IS DEAD, FACE HATE and my personal mantra FINE LINE. Then they finished the set with what is bound to be a radio hit “LAUGH.”

Their show lasted about an hour, leaving both the musicians and fans exhausted. My neck was sore for about three days.

They have opened for national acts like ATREYU, and this night they totally outclassed the alleged headliners, Primer 55.

I would describe their sound as a cross between 5 Finger Death Punch and Bullet For My Valentine.

I’ve been rockin’ out since the ’80s and this band is by far one of, if not my all time favorite. Check them out live, or better yet, grab their CD.
