Campus, in the C Building late Thursday night according to an e-mail by Marie McFaul.McFaul is an instructor, and was teaching a math class in Room C252 on Thursday,
September 11, when the leg of Ricardo Perez’s chair fell through, causing him “to fall from his chair and hit the floor with (a) hard impact,” McFaul said in the e-mail.
McFaul stated in the e-mail that Perez said he was embarrassed and stunned, but that he
wasn’t badly injured. However, McFaul stated, that within minutes, Perez “complained of his left shoulder and neck area hurting.”
McFaul stated that she moved her class to Room C257, and wants to keep teaching there
because “I am concerned, now, with the integrity of the floor in Room C252.” She stated, “There appeared to be no sub-flooring through the hole.” She added that the students were concerned for their safety, too.
McFaul said she intends to file a report with Public Safety. However, at this time the
accident is under investigation by Public Safety, and they have no comment.
