Shonnice Vaughn (20), sophomore guard, was named First Team All-Conference (N4C) and All-Region (Region IV) Team. At the Jan. 31 game against the College of DuPage, Vaughn shows her dexterity and skill as she helps her team defeat the Chaparrals 80-50.

Sophomore guards Trisha Patton and Shonnice Vaughn were named to the N4C and the NJCAA Region IV honors teams after their performances throughout the 2014-15 season.
Patton was also named as the N4C Player of the Year after averaging 18 points and over nine rebounds per game. Patton was incredibly efficient offensively, leading the Stormers in field goal percentage and 3-point field goal percentage.
Patton’s playing style combines a cool-headed demeanor with a superior sense of her whereabouts on the court at all times. This sense led to her making decisions that produced a staggering ratio of positive to negative results for MATC.
Vaughn made her presence known all over the court, dominating on the defensive end. Her 4.5 steals per game was second overall in NJCAA Division III. Her 104 total steals was good for fourth overall in the division, which is all the more impressive considering she missed eight games with a leg injury that sapped much of her mobility upon her return. Vaughn’s answer to that physical challenge was to play smarter and to play harder than anyone thought was possible. Vaughn also led MATC in blocks with 1.9 and assists with 4.1.
Congratulations to both players!

Trisha Patton (23), sophomore guard, was selected the N4C Player of the Year, and named First Team All-Conference (N4C) and All-Region Team (Region IV). During the Feb. 21 game against Joliet Junior College, Patton scored 22 points. The Stormers beat the Wolves 90-79.
