There are many free and discounted services available to students and staff here at MATC. Frequently these services are provided by students in various programs. Let’s take a look.

Dental Clinic

Provided by Dental Hygiene students, under the supervision of Dental Hygiene faculty and a supervising licensed dentist.

Located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus Health Sciences Building, Room H115.

Hours are Mondays 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30-5:30 p.m., Tuesdays 1- 5 p.m., Wednesdays 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5:30 p.m., Thursdays 8 a.m.-noon and 1- 5 p.m., and Fridays 10 a.m. –
2 p.m.

New patients ages 18-62 pay $40, which includes an initial consultation, cleaning, and full mouth and bitewing X-rays.

Offers cleanings and a range of X-ray services costing between $10 and $40.

Additional services provided at no cost include fluoride treatments, periodontal scaling and root planing, placement of chemotherapeutic agents, and nutritional counseling.

Appointments are accepted during the fall and spring semesters, with the clinic closed during winter, spring and summer breaks.

FastCare

Students can take advantage of free treatment for minor illnesses and injuries through the FastCare clinic provided by Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin. The clinic is located in the McKinley Health Center at 1271 N. 6th St in Milwaukee. The clinic is walk-in only and hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Services are also available at a number of area Meijer stores.

Echocardiography Clinic

Free echocardiograms are offered to all students, faculty, administration, and staff courtesy of students in the Echocardiography program. Scans take approximately 1 hour to complete and are available by appointment or walk-in. The Echocardiography Clinic is located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus in Room H-233. Fall hours are Wednesday 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Spring hours will be Tuesday 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

6th Street Café/
6th Street Bakery

Operated by students in the Baking and Pastry Arts program.

Located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus Main Building, Rooms M175 and M175A.

Bakery hours are Monday through Friday 7-11:30 a.m. Café hours are Tuesday 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Features a variety of delicious and reasonably priced pastries, coffee drinks and light lunch items.

Cuisine

Operated by students in the Culinary Arts program.

Located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus Main Building, Room M102.

Tuesdays through Thursdays seating and reservations are taken between 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Cuisine offers upscale lunches and professional service at incredibly reasonable prices.

MATC Food Pantry

Located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus, Foundation Hall, 8th floor.

Hours are Mondays and Tuesdays 8 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Skyn Spa

Operated by students in the Aesthetician program.

Located at the Mequon Campus, Room A233.

Hours sent out in an email to all students are listed as Tuesdays 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 2 – 5 p.m., and Thursdays 9 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

Skyn offers a variety of facials, mineral makeup and paraffin treatments ranging in price from $10 to $30; as well as hair removal services ranging from $8 to $15.

MATC students, faculty and staff are eligible for 20 percent off services and retail purchases.

Barber Services

Provided by Barber and Cosmetology students.

Located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus Main Building, Room M128.

Featuring services such as men’s haircuts, shaves and linings. Allow between 1 and 3.5 hours depending on the service.

Salon Services

Featuring services such as haircuts for men and women, lining and facial hair trimming, styling, color and tint, permanent waves, chemical relaxing and texturizing. Allow between 1 and 3.5 hours depending on the service.

Spa Services

Provided by Cosmetology students.

Located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus Main Building, Room M110.

Services include mini and basic facials, five-minute neck massage, paraffin wax hand dip, and waxing and tweezing.

Nail Services

Featuring manicures, pedicures, and a variety of both acrylic and gel fill services ranging from $15 to $30.

Tutoring Services

Tutoring Services offers free walk-in as well as online tutoring. Walk-in sessions can be one-on-one or in groups, Structured Learning Assistance is also offered. Located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus in Room C201, Fall hours are Monday through Thursday 7:45 a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday 7:45 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Fitness Center

There are two Fitness Centers. One is located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus Main Building, Room M6 and the other is located at the Mequon Campus room A-114.

Features a variety of exercise equipment and some available lockers.

The Fitness Center is included in your tuition and is free to use for all students and staff with ID.

Fall hours for the Downtown Milwaukee Campus are Sept. 4 through Dec. 14 and are as follows: Mondays through Thursdays 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The fall hours for the Mequon Campus are Mondays 8-10 a.m. and noon-3 p.m., Tuesdays 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m., Wednesdays 8-10 a.m. and  1-4 p.m. and Thursdays 1-3 p.m.

The MATC Stormers website notes that all hours are subject to change depending on the school’s schedule and events. Visitors should double-check hours online before attending.
