Public Safety sent the following information this morning regarding a lockdown at the West Allis Campus:
At approximately 7 a.m. today, MATC Public Safety received a request from the West Allis Police Department to lock down the West Allis Campus due to a police situation not related to the college near the corner of 71st and Madison Streets. A lockdown was activated while police addressed the situation.
At approximately 7:27 a.m., we were notified by West Allis Police that the area was safe and the lockdown could be lifted.
We appreciate your cooperation during this incident. Again, the incident today does not appear to have any connection to MATC. Rest assured that we take all precautions when responding to police activity around our campuses. Please contact Public Safety at 414-297-6588; [email protected], with any questions or concerns you may have.
Lockdown Drills were practiced at all campus locations earlier this month. You can read more about the importance of those drills here.
