Former President Donald Trump appeared to be shot in the ear at the campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The former president finally raised his fist in the air to show supporters that he was not severely injured before being rushed away by the Secret Service.
House Minority Speaker Hakeem Jeffries said the following in a statement on X, “My thoughts and prayers are with former President Trump. I am thankful for the decisive law enforcement response. America is a democracy. Political violence of any kind is never acceptable.”
According to law enforcement, the gunman is dead, and two others have been injured in Saturday’s shooting. The violent incident has been condemned on both sides of the aisle, with VP Kamala Harris saying the following, “Doug and I are relieved that he is not seriously injured. We are praying for him, his family, and all those who have been injured and impacted by this senseless shooting.” President Joe Biden plans to contact the former president and, in a press conference, declared, “It’s sick. It’s sick…It’s one of the reasons why we have to unite this country,” while urging everyone to condemn political violence.
