Breast Cancer is a type of cancer that can start in one or both of the breasts. It is an overgrowth of cells that can form a solid tumor on different parts of the breast. The cancer spreads when the cancer cells get into the blood or lymph system and then are carried to other parts of the body. When the cancer is found, tests are done to determine how much cancer has been spread throughout the body. This is called cancer stages.
- The lower stage, one or two, means that the cancer has not spread very much
- The higher stage, three or four, means that it has spread more. Four is the highest stage.
