Stormers fall in doubleheader
On April 30, MATC men’s baseball team played a doubleheader against Waubonsee. The Stormers came into the doubleheader with a 7-27 record. Waubonsee, who is at the top of their division, came in with a record of 30-16.
The first game Waubonsee won 10-2. Waubonsee scored 10 runs on 17 hits and their pitching was lights out, only allowing two runs. The loss for the first game went to Carl Mercier, leaving his individual pitching record at 3-6 on the season.
The fatigue from the first game was really showing for the second game, as MATC dropped another game to Waubonsee, losing 18-1. Waubonsee bats were even more effective this game, scoring 18 runs on 17 hits featuring Kyle Kolb’s solo home run. Zach Fuhrer took the loss for this one, putting his individual pitching record for the season at 2-4.
MATC couldn’t throw a strike or get a bat on the ball, which unfortunately has been the overwhelming story all season.
