Local rap group features MATC students
Palm Tree Mentality is a rap group made of members from Wisconsin, Nevada and California. One of the members, Isidore Manuel, is an IT Network Specialist student at MATC. He is anxious to lead the group to stardom through networking and vision.
A recent addition to the group is Jaquan Jackson, who is in MATC’s Graphic Design program.
The ambitious group ranges in age from 18 to 20 and they have a diverse style that receives attention everywhere they perform.
Their trendy mixture of underground and commercial sounds comes from the different experiences and lessons they have learned throughout the group’s musical journey. Palm Tree Mentality recently shared the Eagles Club stage with Travis Scott, who has worked with Kanye West and Young Thug.
The goal of the group now is to elevate their craft to the next level through radio play and other mediums.
They want to be able to keep doing what they’re doing for “the love of the game.”
“If this was easy,” Manuel said, “everybody would be doing it.”
