MATC’s Music Occupations program students from the Music Business 2 class presented the Rock Hunger VIII on May 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery.

It cost $7 to get in and if you brought a non-perishable food item it was only $5. Also at the door, there were raffle tickets for door prizes. Everyone got one ticket once they arrived.

Many of the musicians were students who performed at Rock the Hunger before. The bands had different genres also. It was a mix from pop to rock to country.

People could dance in front of the stage, or hang out by the bar and have a drink.

Most of the students have been in different bands before the band they are in now.

Most of them were very excited and loved being on stage. They said it was life changing.

“You get nervous in the beginning, but you are entertaining people and making them happy. So in the end, you are happy,” said one of the main singers from the Fortnados.

That night was full of music and people having fun. It also raised money and food for the Hunger Task Force. The energy was strong throughout the night, not a dull moment.

MATC music students’ hip-hop band Marty McFly (L-R) Loop Florez, Ben Bruns, Cheri Finch, Nic Stanford and Carlos Dixon, entertained the crowd with their upbeat lyrics. Florez is a music tutor.
