Billy Strings the crowd along
Michigan-bred bluegrass genius Billy Strings continues to turn heads with his superb finesse of his guitar. Strings, (aka William Apostol) eats, sleeps and breathes bluegrass music and is just 24 years of age.
His love and knowledge for bluegrass music showed in his performance on Oct. 12 at the Back Room at Colectivo on Prospect Ave.
Strings and his bandmates perform an extremely energetic show but also display their inspirations and the roots of bluegrass in their music. Drew Matulich plays a mandolin, Brad Tucker on bass, and Billy Failing on five-string banjo.
The crowd was very interactive with the band –screaming, cheering and dancing. The whole dance floor was filled with a variety of people, and almost everyone sang along.
