Toda la experiencia de Mexican Fiesta 2023 a orillas del Lago Michigan fue fantástica y muy llena de alegría. Se podía ver a la gente disfrutando de la fiesta en cada rincón del recinto del Summerfest.

Bailarines, que bailan al ritmo de la música del mariachi y entonan famosas canciones de compositores famosos como Jose Alfredo Jiménez. Las bandas de mariachis de la Escuela Comunitaria Bruce Guadalupe tuvieron una presentación majestuosa y sobresaliente.

Cultura, tradición, comida alegra y costumbres estaban en todas partes. Con tacos, frijoles y elotes con chile y queso, se pudieron apreciar comidas artesanías y dulces tradicionales y de todo tipo.  El sabor de México es sin igual. El arte, la información genealógica y los detalles sobre los primeros inmigrantes de origen mexicano ayudaron a explicar a las personas que construyeron e iniciaron estas magníficas y hermosas tradiciones.

Al entrar a las instalaciones de la Fiesta se apreciaba un gigantesco altar del Día de los Muertos. Un idea original del pintor mexicano José Guadalupe Posadasla, él creó la Calavera Catrina, que es una representación de la muerte. La gente disfruó Pan de muerto, la Catrina y los desfiles.

Los más pequeños se podían divertir subiendo a los juegos mecánicos. Todo era realmente fascinante y divertido. Entre las exposiciones que más destacaron fueron las de los carros antiguos y bicicletas portando las banderas de México, de los Estados Unidos de América y de Puerto Rico.

Esta ha sido una de las manifestaciones culturales más hermosas que he visto jamás en Milwaukee. Entre los distinguidos invitados que estuvieron presentes en la inauguración oficial del evento del estuvieron: el Gobernador del Estado de Wisconsin, Tony Evers, la Vicegobernadora, Sara Rodríguez, el Alcalde de la Ciudad de Milwaukee, Cavalier Johnson, y diversas personalidades políticas también nos visitó.

Es una tradición en las familias mexicanas reunirse para los eventos importantes y Mexican Fiesta es ideal para este propósito. El clima era agradable y juntos, celebramos el 50 aniversario de esta increíble fiesta. donde recordamos el maravilloso país de donde emigramos. Cultura, tradición, comida y costumbres por todas partes.

The entire experience of Mexican Fiesta on the shores of Lake Michigan was fantastic and very full of happiness. Festival-goers enjoyed the celebration in every corner of the Summerfest Grounds. 

Dancers gracefully moved to the rhythms of mariachi music, serenading the crowd with songs by renowned composers like Jose Alfredo Jiménez. The mariachi band from Bruce Guadalupe Community School delivered a majestic and outstanding performance.

Culture, tradition, comfort food, and customs were woven into every part of the event. With options like tacos, beans, elotes with chile and cheese, people enjoyed artisanal foods and traditional sweets. Nothing compares to the tastes of Mexico. 

Art exhibitions, genealogical records, and historical documents shed light on the narrative of the Mexican immigrant experience, showcasing their beautiful and enduring traditions.

Upon entering the festival grounds, a grand altar for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) greeted visitors. Inspired by Mexican painter José Guadalupe Posadas, La Calavera Catrina (the Elegant Skull) took center stage. The crowd delighted in the calaveras (painted skulls), pan de muerto, and parades.

Children reveled in the excitement of amusement rides. Among the exhibits that stood out the most were those of old cars and bicycles carrying the flags of Mexico, the United States of America and Puerto Rico.

This has been one of the most beautiful cultural manifestations in the City of Milwaukee. Distinguished guests at the official opening included the Governor of the State of Wisconsin, Tony Evers, the Lieutenant Governor, Sara Rodríguez, the Mayor of the City of Milwaukee, Cavalier Johnson, and other prominent political leaders.

In keeping with Mexican tradition, families gather together for important events and celebrations, and Mexician Fiesta is a perfect time to come together. The beautiful weather provided the perfect backdrop as we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Mexian Fiesta,  remembering the wonderful country from which we emigrated- a celebration imbued with culture, tradition, food everywhere.
