Mom? Michelle Obama? J-Lo? The MATC Times took to the campus to ask students about their favorite woman. We received a variety of heartfelt responses, many of which centered around family. We hope that in reading these responses you will be encouraged to consider who YOUR favorite woman is. More importantly, we hope you are encouraged to let her know it.

Seanice Salters, Paralegal Program (and an Administrative Assistant at MATC)
“The woman that I admire is my mother. She was the strongest and most resilient woman that I knew. She definitely taught me a lot about giving grace, being grateful and also going for what you want. All of my inspiration comes from her; the mother that I am comes from her; my fight for life comes from her. I’ve seen her fight through many aversities, and she kept me spiritually-grounded. My sense of wanting to give back to the community is all dedicated to her.” (Photo by Sirphazzun Johnson)
Torean Smith, MATC TV and Broadcasting Program
My favorite person in the world is my mother because she did everything for me and was there for me. She taught me everything I know; I love her to death.

My biggest inspiration for a woman would be my oldest sister because she’s handled a lot of trials and adversity, and she came out stronger and better. So, I aspire to be like that and handle situation like she did.
